Home Care vs. Home Health Care

While both represent care in a person’s home, home care is non-medical in nature, and is provided by persons who are not licensed personnel (e.g. nurses, doctors, etc.), where home health care generally refers to care that is provided by licensed personnel.  UNLIMITED facilitates home care services for Medicaid waiver participants.

What types of services are generally considered home care services?  Home care services include help with daily tasks such as Meal Preparation, Medication reminders, Laundry, Light Housekeeping, Errands, Shopping, and Companionship. Activities of daily living (ADL) refers to six activities (bathing, dressing, transferring, using the toilet, eating, and walking) that enable a consumer to live independently in the community.

Sharing employment responsibilities between yourself and UNLIMITED Staffing Solutions, Inc. allows you to enjoy the control tied to employing your own caregiver, while also enjoying the security of knowing you will be able to reach someone any time for guidance in the event of an emergency.
 
Be your worker’s managing employer:

• Recruit / Select and refer qualified direct care workers to UNLIMITED for hire back to you
• While we will make sure your worker has the training required to provide your services, you provide specific training to your caregiver according to your preferences and needs
• Determine your caregiver’s work schedule , the tasks he or she is to perform, and how they are performed within the scope of your authorized plan-of-care
• Supervise the day-to-day activities of your qualified caregiver, and
• Discharge your caregiver, as necessary, from your home

You take the lead in determining the who, what, when and where regarding your care.

Recruiting and making sure a worker meets the state requirements to provide your care services can be a bear.  So can documenting employee performance and incident reporting.  UNLIMITED takes on that responsibility for you – freeing you up to live your life.

Convenience:

On call means on call.  It doesn’t mean a voice answering machine that is checked in the off hours every once and a while, and responded to at the convenience of someone else.  You will have the personal cell phone number of your Staffing Consultant to be able to reach them any time of day with any pressing issues.
