Per Pennsylvania State regulations, to be considered for employment in home care services, all workers must complete initial Pre-Assignment Training. All Trainings are “Competency Based” and total 24 hours. All active workers must successfully complete annual training requirements to remain in compliance and maintain work eligibility to be offered work assignments or to continue a current work assignment. There are three tracks with three different curriculums as mandated by the State:
- Home Healthcare
- Residential MH/MR
- E.P.S.D.T.
Core trainings include:
- OSHA/Universal Precautions
- General Fire Safety
- Professionalism and cultural Competency
- Child Abuse/Patient Rights/Client Confidentiality – HIPPA
- Team Members Roles and Responsibilities
- Behavior Modification I
- Suicide Precautions
- Clinical Overview (Specific to Service Type)
- Crisis Management/De-Escalation (Specific to Service Type)
- First Aid/CPR
Note: Trainings are not mandatory. However, a worker must meet the State minimum requirements of many of the work assignments before an assignment can be offered.
TRAINING SESSIONS ARE MADE AVAILABLE AT NO COST TO THE APPLICANT.
